Every year the instructors of the overseas MAET cohort from Michigan State University create a video. This year’s video is a riff off of Ed Sheeran’s “Galway Girl” video, shot on location in Galway, Ireland.

They came to learn in a faraway land to see as much of this world as they can
With instructors supported by the State of Michigan Said, “friends, I just want to TPACK”
Saw them on the second floor right after class
Had some gelato and then soon they all asked
They wondered – what does it mean, the context of TPACK?
Said it starts with the P, should we go on?
Then the content knowledge, technology for fun
Got context all around it riding shotgun
So think about it more, let’s give TPACK a chance
And watch how that learning will be enhanced

You know they went to the arch for the afternoon
To Salt House and Murphys, got a pint or two
And back at Corrib, had a big ol’ barbecue
And at night you’d find us listening to trad tunes
Never did we ever find a TPACK spot so sweet
Integrating thoughtfully, we never missed a beat
Oh we could have stayed in Ireland for another week
In this packed out summer, on this learning streak.

And now we’ve learned a lot and it’s the end of summertime
Thinking deeply ‘bout this technology of mine
Brains were steeped in theories of different kinds.
As we filled up our lungs with the cold air of the night
They walked towards home with projects on their minds
They found the Silent Disco, and they danced all night
I swear I’m gonna put them in a song that I write
About a Galway world and my MAET life.
